The Australian Government has committed $51.6 million and the Queensland Government another $15 million, with Seymour Whyte as principal contractor.

Work has covered service relocations, piling and crane operations for the bridge, and a concrete noise wall along the southern side of Dayboro Road. It matters to residents too, because Youngs Crossing Road has a long history of closing when the river comes up. Boundaries shaped by a dam. The eastern part of Lake Samsonvale sits inside Joyner. When North Pine Dam filled in 1975 it flooded farmland and reshaped titles right around the lake edge.
