The road is the story here. The same work brought new signals at the Volz Road and Browns Road intersection, changes at Saint Road and McGrath Road, new U-turn facilities and wider shoulders with marked bike lanes. Joint federal and state funding for the section came to roughly $48 million.

It is one piece of the broader Bribie Island Road Upgrade Strategy, a staged plan to bring the whole corridor up to a four-lane, median-divided standard. Design is progressing further west between Hickey Road and King Johns Creek. Corridor work like that shifts frontages, access points and levels along the road, so Ningi surveyors end up involved on both sides of the fence.
