Surveyors for Homeowners in White Patch
Live at the quiet end of the island? Surveyors in White Patch work for homeowners here more than anyone else, because the locality is barely 2.6 square kilometres and holds around 150 people. White Patch sits on the western side of Bribie Island, about 7km north west of Bongaree and 28km east north east of Caboolture, with the Pumicestone Channel forming its western boundary, Banksia Beach to the south and Welsby further north.
Homeowner work here covers the whole spread. Where does the boundary actually run before a fence goes up. How high does a floor level need to sit. Will a shed or carport clear the setback. What did a previous owner build without asking anyone. Around 75 homes are served by the single road in, and plenty have been here long enough that the paperwork and the ground have drifted apart. Our White Patch surveying team measures rather than assumes, which on blocks this size is the difference between an approval and a redesign.
The Bridge That Reconnected White Patch
White Patch learned what isolation means in 2022. The causeway carrying the only road into the community was washed away in the February floods, cutting residents off from the rest of Bribie Island for four days. Council crews built a temporary crossing within days, and it carried the community for more than two years afterwards.
The replacement opened in September 2024. The new White Patch Bridge is a two lane structure built higher and wider at the Wrights Creek crossing, fully funded through the Commonwealth and State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements at a cost of $8.9 million and delivered by City of Moreton Bay. It came with a new approach road, shared pathway connections back towards Banksia Beach, and rehabilitation of vegetation the flooding had torn out. Council is now running a community naming process for it. Work like that runs on survey from the outset, and land surveyors in White Patch still reference that crossing constantly.
What Makes Surveying in White Patch Different
One road, one crossing. Everything about building here starts with access. Materials, machinery and every trade arrive over a single bridge, and a community of 150 people does not get a second route. So timing, delivery access and what a site can physically receive are worth working through before a design is finalised rather than after.
Hemmed by water and park. The Pumicestone Channel forms the western boundary while national park sits behind the settlement, leaving a narrow band of residential land along the coast. Blocks press against public land on one side and the water on the other, and old fences do not always respect either. A boundary survey establishes where private title actually stops.
Tidal ground and Wrights Creek. The creek runs through the southern part of the locality into the passage, and this whole edge sits low. Minimum floor levels are set against tidal and storm tide mapping accordingly. A contour and detail survey ties your ground to a recognised datum, while council’s flood check development report gives the level a design has to clear. White Patch surveyors treat that as step one on any build.
We also service neighbouring Bongaree and Bellara down the island.
