As-Built Surveys in Narangba

Surveyors in Narangba handle more industrial work than anywhere else along this corridor, and as-built survey is a large slice of it. The suburb covers 43.3 square kilometres and holds 20,910 people, which really makes it three places in one: newer residential estates, a big rural west, and an industrial estate with sites on both sides of the Bruce Highway. It sits 12.3km south of Caboolture and about 39km north of the Brisbane CBD, between Burpengary to the north and Dakabin to the south.

An as-built survey records what was actually constructed rather than what the drawings promised. On an industrial site that means finished hardstand levels, pavement falls, drainage inverts, building footprints and where all of it sits against the lot boundary. Councils and certifiers want it at completion, and owners want it later when a new tenant asks what is really on the site. So get your Narangba land surveyor out while the work is still visible, because chasing an as-built after the landscaping goes in costs more than it should.

Local Projects Reshaping Narangba

Two things are moving here. The first is a road corridor most locals have not noticed yet. TMR’s Bruce Highway Western Alternative, now referred to as the future Moreton Motorway, has Stage 2 protected between Moorina and Narangba across a 15km alignment, while early planning continues on Stage 3 between Narangba and Bald Hills. Construction is years off. But the corridor is already identified as a future state-controlled road, which changes what land in its path can do right now.

The second is steadier council and state spending. The 2025-26 council budget funded road upgrades along the full length of O’Mara Road plus an intersection upgrade at Young and Oakey Flat Roads, and the state has parking upgrades at Narangba station on its program. None of it is glamorous. All of it needs setout, level checks and as-constructed plans, which is where Narangba surveyors come in.

Where Narangba Surveyors Spend Their Time

The industrial estate. Industrial land here carries heavier uses than most suburbs see, including a chemical plant and an irradiation facility, so separation distances and buffers matter as much as ordinary setbacks. Big sites bring their own survey needs too: hardstand and pavement levels, drainage falls across hectares of roof and concrete, and stockpile volumes wherever material is being moved. A contour and detail survey is the base layer for all of it.

Sideling Creek runs through it. The railway station here was originally called Sideling Creek Station, which tells you plainly where the water goes. The creek drains south into Lake Kurwongbah, so low ground along it and its tributaries carries flood constraints, while flatter estate land can still sit in an overland flow path. Pull a flood check property report from City of Moreton Bay before you design, rather than after a certifier asks for it.

Three kinds of boundary in one suburb. On a new estate lot the pegs are recent but frequently destroyed during construction. Out west, rural fences were built to suit stock decades ago and have little to do with the title. On industrial land the lines have to be exact, because plant, hardstand and buffers are all measured off them. So a boundary survey is the first job a surveyor in Narangba does in every case, just for three different reasons.

We also service neighbouring Kurwongbah and Moorina along the corridor.
