There is very little building here, and that is by design. Most of Lake Manchester is locked up as D’Aguilar National Park to the north and Brisbane State Forest to the south, wrapped around the Lake Manchester Dam and its 74 square kilometre drinking-water catchment, managed by Seqwater. That protection shapes everything. Development is limited to rural and grazing use on private land, mostly on the western, Somerset side of the locality. So the survey work out here is rural rather than residential: identification surveys on acreage, boundary re-establishment before a fence or shed goes up, and easement surveys for access tracks and services across large blocks. It is quiet, careful work on country where the title lines were often set a long time ago and rarely tested since.
